MIK Group has prepared and publicly disclosed its first-ever “Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report,” aligning with international standards and methodologies. The Management Committee of “MIK HFC” LLC approved the report on November 29, 2024. It was prepared in English and Mongolian to be published on the company’s official website for public access.
The report was developed based on the “Greenhouse Gas Protocol” (GHG Protocol)—a global standard co-developed by the World Resources Institute and World Business Council for Sustainable Development, the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard, and the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) methodology specifically tailored to the financial sector. In this context, MIK accounted for direct emissions from its operations and indirect emissions from financed assets—including investments and purchased mortgage loan portfolios.
By joining the PCAF initiative in 2023, MIK Holding JSC committed to measuring and transparently reporting direct and indirect emissions from its activities by recognized standards within three years. This step marks a pioneering example for financial institutions in Mongolia in terms of greenhouse gas accounting and disclosure.
Through this report, MIK Group reinforces its strategic commitment to implementing its sustainable development policy, integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into its operations, and contributing to greenhouse gas reduction.
